Chihuahuas are native to Central America and Mexico and get their name from Chihuahua
Mexico.
An apple shaped head, short muzzle, and erect pointed ears are distinguishing traits of
purebred Chihuahuas. Generally accepted standard for a Chihuahua is 6 pounds or less at
12 months of age with teacup Chihuahuas weighing in at 2 1/2 pounds. Chihuahuas come with
both long or short hair in many colors and temperments.
Good watch dogs and small size make these fine pets for living in motorhomes and
companions for long haul truck drivers.
